ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER
John Fleenor has always been captivated by the beauty of the still image and it has been his constant goal to capture images that speak to the viewer in unexpected and profound ways. John began his studies as an Architecture student at Mississippi State University however, after acquiring a minor in design, he felt compelled to change paths and focus his efforts on photography. At the Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida, John not only received his BFA in Illustration and a Minor in Photography (Photography was not a Major at the time) but also the President's Award for his work in Photography, an honor reserved only for the highest performing student within his chosen discipline.
Beginning his photographic career in Central Florida, John quickly became an emerging talent among well-established commercial and fashion photographers. After several years of freelancing, John left Florida for Los Angeles to pursue a career in "live-action" filmmaking. Having worked on every type of film, from $200 Million blockbusters to $6 independent documentaries, both behind and in-front of the camera, along with a variety of Clients big and small, John's experience of all filmed media is vast and varied.
Over the years John has never lost his passion for still photography and now shoots with a renewed passion, focus and knowledge base, combining his two loves - photography and filmmaking. Dividing his time between shooting documentaries, cinematography, directing, photography, writing the occasional screenplay, painting, rock climbing and surfing, John has finally found his bliss.
